Vitamin D For Anxiety

What is the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and anxiety?

Dr. Brynna Conner, MD had this to say: “While there’s evidence to support a link between vitamin D deficiency and anxiety, it’s important to note that it appears to be one of correlation not causation.” This means that vitamin D deficiency is associated with anxiety disorders but vitamin D deficiency does not directly cause anxiety.

Vitamin D could be one avenue to explore but we need more high-quality randomized controlled trials to confirm whether or not there is a direct causal link.

For more information on the relationship between vitamin D deficiency and anxiety as well as the link with PMDD and women, check out what Dr. Brynna Connor says in this blog by Izzie Price.
